An Irish Blessing on this cool November Day

I love the word "November" and I've been trying to figure out why. I think it's because November is a time of tradition, a time of giving thanks. I have a lot of great memories of Thanksgiving, of family meals and traveling to visit friends.  So, on this cool November day, may I share with you an Irish blessing.  You would expect something less from someone named Colleen?

May the blessing of God's soft rain be on you,
Falling gently on your head, refreshing your soul
With the sweetness of little flowers newly blooming.
May the strength of the winds of Heaven bless you,
Carrying the rain to wash your spirit clean
Sparkling after in the sunlight.
May the blessing of God's earth be on you,
And as you walk the roads,
May you always have a kind word for those you meet.

  1. A lovely poem, many thanks, Colleen. I love November but, then, I love all the months. Perhaps, I love the hot summer months not quite as much as the winter but any time I'm on the top side of the flower bed, it's a good month.
